"Great stay. Helpful staff. Good bar. The shuttle driver was not good at his job and upset people. Could be easily solved by counting those that get on and stopping at the number of seats. Instead he would allow a bunch of extra people every time and then have them all get off. Such a waste of time. Walk to the right and go up the escalators. Faster and easier."
"Hotel and rooms have mid century art deco feel to it. The hotel has nice little touches. I love the trolley/shuttle that runs on the hour from opening to closing time to Universal Studios/City Walk. They have a restaurant on site where you can pay for a buffet or eat off the menu. Also, attached to the hotel is a store with souvenirs and misc items for purchase. Lastly, the hotel has a smell of teakwood, which smells really nice."
"The hotel is located, oddly, by the entrance of the freeway however, there was no significant noise that we were aware of. At least not the way other reviewers stated there was. The staff at the front desk were so friendly! Our room was very clean and this hotel offered amongst its amenities, a mini deodorant! I have traveled for many years to many countries and all over the US and this is a first for me! I absolutely loved that extra little touch of the deodorant."
"Really enjoyed my stay at Sofitel! The staff was excellent, and the property is gorgeous and a great location. We also really loved the gym and pool area. My only critique is the room. I was expecting a more updated and larger room given the nightly rate, but other than that, it’s a great hotel!"
"This hotel is a true gem! We felt like a piece of old Hollywood glamour has been preserved. It has been sympathetically updated, making it comfortable, yet retaining the charm of yesteryear. The Edmon bar is a must-experience part of the hotel. The art-deco interior is delightful. The bartenders are professional and passionate in their mixology. Take advantage of Happy Hour for best prices. The reception staff are great with recommendations. Take our advice and leave your vehicle parked—use taxi or Uber to get where you need to go. We even braved the transit system to get to Santa Monica!"
