"This was a self-check in stay. When we entered the lobby from the street, it smelled like people had been smoking in the lobby all day and the smell did not fade the whole time we were there. "This hotel was in the upper range of my price point, but well worth it. The location is down a street from the bars/cafes and souvenir shops and up a street from some classier restaurants. Reykavich pretty much closes down early evening so street noise was never an issue. Our room was spacious by Icelandic standards, clean with a great shower. The breakfast buffet was fabulous so we could have skipped having lunch for the day. Front desk was excellent at handling paperwork and baggage storage....

The missing star is only because the common noise complaints are real, since the hotel is situated above the American Bar. But what it loses in noise it makes up for in its location, which seems like a decent trade off. Would stay here again."
