"OMG the breakfast. So good. Local jams and honey and everything. And the house! So big, my goodness, and so clean and functional. Such nice bathrooms! Kinda a lot of critters in the place, but you don't go touristing in the jungle to avoid critters. A really nice hike on the grounds too, and the complementary family dog to accompany on hikes and show you to your cabaña was awesome."

"Tolle, neue Zimmer mit Fensterfront. Sehr leckeres Frühstück und nette Mitarbeiter, die gerne Tipps für Restaurants, Touren etc. geben. Die zimmer sind zwar etwas kleiner, aber das Hotel für ein paar Tage sehr zu empfehlen. Restaurants, Bars, Supermarkt, Arzt, Aktivitäten direkt in der Nähe und zum Teil nur wenige Meter entfernt. Vielen Dank! "

"We were going back and forth between a few different properties and we are so glad we ended up going with this one!!! The staff was amazing and attentive (especially Hamid and Kevin), the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible, the bedding was great, and the grounds made you feel like you were on a retreat. We loved the intimate feel and getting to know the staff. We were sad to leave but look forward to the opportunity to return!"

"At the end of the rainbow, on the edge of the cloud forest, sits Hotel Belmar. The property feels like a unique blend of a boutique eco-lodge and a European ski chalet, crafted almost entirely from local wood. While the approach road is steep and rocky, there is convenient parking very close to the entrance. With only 40 rooms, the experience feels intimate. Our room featured a private balcony with seating for two and a spectacular view of the valley extending all the way to the Nicoya Peninsula...

"This place is such a magical spot, hidden in the valley below Santa Elena (down some insane steep gravel hills I might add). Once there though you are in a little piece of paradise in a treehouse in the woods all to yourself, with breakfast brought to your room every morning. Fun place!"

"Highly recommended location, I really enjoyed staying here at this family run B&B. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was really nice, my room was great, very quiet and comfy. The gardens are lovely and there is a great little deck to watch the sunset. Although the place is down and unpaved road I was only in a tiny 2wd car and this (and everywhere else in the area) easily accessible, just take it very slow. Would definitely stay here again "

"What an adorable hotel!! We stayed at the treehouse and it was marvelous - windows all around, beautiful greenery outside, a wonderful hammock to sit and relax in. Keep in mind, the hotel is not a walking distance from center of town but if you have a car, the super short drive is well worth it. Cosy and sweet "
