"Unfortunately they had 2 of 3 elevators out of service for my whole stay. One day all 3 were down. Rooms were alright in most areas of care except for the bench and chair in room. Those items were cloth covered and looked like they haven’t steamed cleaned them in years. They only provide housekeeping services every other day. Staff were pleasant and tried to make the most of things. I felt bad for them the day all the elevators were out as they had to carry things up to 8 flights of stairs."

"Mango and Sunset sits on an active coffee farm and the property is stunning. We are already looking forward to our next stay. Kriss and Gene are warm and lovely hosts. As someone who has allergies one of the reasons I booked our accommodations at this unforgettable bread and breakfast was the hypoallergenic bedding and hardwood floors. "The showers had poor ventilation. Mildew and mold was so strong I was not able to shower there. I coughed uncontrollably when I entering. I took pictures for my insurance. I had parking across the street. Staff was helpful. There was one that was screaming and drinking alcohol. Other staff redirected her. She did curse often. I moved out after one day. The beds were cozy but if you have mold allergy it is impossible to stay there. Not enough ventilation in that area."

"This is the best hotel that we have stayed at. The amenities, staff, rooms, the spa, the adult pool, the food, the beach…all 5 stars! Swam with manta rays and did the longest running luau that was well done. Have been coming here since the 80’s and it only keeps getting better. We love the Mauna Kea and the Big Island of Hawaii."
