"Lovely hotel, large room and really friendly check in. The bed was hideously uncomfortable though, an old, thin mattress that had two dents where people had slept over the years. You could feel every spring. Thin walls with a dog barking all night in the room next door. We didn’t sleep at all. Shame as it is lovely but not what we needed as a stop over before the trip in the tunnel the next day"

"Quick overnight stop before using the tunnel crossing the next morning. Easy check in, decent car park, clean and comfortable, with petrol station a few hundred yards away. Great stay"

"Had a great room at front on top floor with great sea view. Room and hotel were clean. Did not have breakfast. Possibly understaffed. One night we got back at 9:30 and bar was closed. Lift was out Ok for us but was a problem for some other guests. Would probably use again . Hard to choose between this and the nearby voco."

"Free parking which is so handy. The room was much better than expected and was clean and comfortable. I think we lucked out on the room we got. Decent for cheap I didn’t really see any staff other than one man who wouldn’t let us in the building after we had returned. We had to get our friend who had already to come home to let us in and then he made us stay so he can check the room was booked for 3 - despite me saying it was booked for 3. In one sense this is good for safety but another sense we were three young girls in early twenties with an older man who was getting aggy with us. But I do understand it’s for safety ? When trying to find a staff at reception to ask about parking no one was there and did not come for ages so we just left it. "
