"One of our rooms was very hot and loud because it’s near the extraction fan from the restaurant. Another room where my parents stayed, the heating was on (during a May heat wave) and the tap/showering water was boiling hot with no cold running at all. The staff came to check, said there are no spare rooms to switch to because of the bank holiday weekend. They called the manager, promised to give me an answer, but then I saw ran to her car and never showed again. I asked another staff member....

"Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships."

Small attention to details noted - a radiator that was hung very unevenly in our room (eye catching, long term dust build-up on the headboard, staining/drips/splashes on walls next to the toilet and 2 broken windows in 'attic' windows (not what you expect to see when you first arrive at this otherwise beautiful building). "Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good.
