"This is most certainly an older hotel but the room was completely updated and had a super comfortable bed and pillows, great shower, nice Kerig coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The place was immaculately clean! We would only have hoped to have two bedside tables but there was just one. Parking was easy and just steps from the room. It felt safe and convenient to shopping and restaurants. We highly recommend staying here!"

"Everything was really good. It’s a good location for someone who doesn’t want to stay right in the town. We were initially situated in a suite near the laundromat and it was very loud. Front desk was quick to offer us another room. Unfortunately, housekeeping missed us and for a hotel where we’re paying a resort/facility fee + parking fee, it was a little disappointing. "Lone Oak Lodge is convenient & very close by to many places I wanted to see —- Monterey, Carmel, Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach, 17 Mile Drive, Pacific Grove, Carmel Mission Basilica Church. Only 5 to 15 minutes drive. Stayed here a couple of nights. Reasonable price for huge, clean room & accommodating staff, including the housekeeping. The smell of the room though is too clean! Ingredients of cleaning supplies might be a bit much for people with smell sensitivity. Thank you!"

"We asked for room service , we didn’t get room . The room needs more night stands , the mattress need to be alitttle bit more updated .. the light outside our room did not work .we had to request more pillows the bed had only 2 small pillow size of throw pillows . "

"I had a very lovely stay! The location is great…very close to everything you could possibly need. The room was spotless and had lots of amenities…fridge and microwave were perfect! The bed was super comfy too! They have laundry on site and you can also refill water legacy was very helpful! Everyone I encountered was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning to this property and highly recommend!"

"Yes you check in at the gas station! That’s ok, gas station is also a good minimart. There is no after hours clerk and gas station attendant didn’t understand that he had our keys. Room was ok, property is quite dated, but is kept up well. Gas is cheapest at their station!"

"Check in was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Son enjoyed the pool which was nice after long days at Laguna Seca. Close enough to fast food restaurants and grocery stores including some fantastic donuts at Monterey Donuts. Also being an easy drive to and from Laguna was great. If we are able to make the trip again next year we will strongly consider using El Castell again"

"When we attempted to check in the staff was rude and not helpful. The parking was very limited plus there was a big street festival that took up all of the street parking. We should have been notified of this but were not. Our room faced a busy street which was noisy all night. The promised breakfast didn't start until 8AM which is late for early risers. The one day we did get breakfast it was just coffee and some mediocre pastries. They promised some kind of yogurt parfait but it was late...

"Amazing hotel!!! The staff were so friendly and accomodating. The only thing is that there is no A/C since the property is older so keep that in mind BUT they do have fans to give you if needed. But they were amazing, bed was comfy and great views"

Parking near our room was easy. The surrounding residential neighborhood was quiet and appeared to be safe. The beach is a 5-minutes walk from the lodge. "The room was clean and staff was helpful. The room itself was nice, but definitely got warm at night. Unfortunately the fan itself made a lot of noise at night. We tried opening the window at night, but it was quite noisy. Overall, the hotel was in a very nice and convenient location. "
