"Beautiful, the in room onsen was amazing and the room was awesome. Great staff. Great location. Wish I could stay for longer- perfect to break up the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Make sure you arrive early- all of the attractions close around 5 pm, which I didn’t realize, but the staff stored my luggage while I went to explore on check out day. The only thing that wasn’t amazing was dinner, but I didn’t go for one of the higher priced wagyu steaks. Otherwise , a perfect stay."

"Overall, the stay was disappointing. On the positive side, the onsen was lovely and the attendant on the ladies side was very helpful. That said, nothing is available until 3 and you have to rush to make an on-site reservation for the open air area after 3 (there was not an option to reserve prior to 3). The front desk staff provided inconsistent information on check in and was initially unhelpful in storing luggage that did not fit in the automated storage machine. Bottom line, do not arrive...

"We had an amazing stay at this onsen hotel. The traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were delicious and made the experience feel very authentic and immersive. The rooms were beautiful, and having a private onsen in the room was a huge plus. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic Japanese ryokan experience!! :)"

"This was such a lovely spot to stay. A very authentic and peaceful Ryokan experience in a beautiful setting. The room was much larger than I expected with a relaxing forest outlook. The staff were very helpful and accomodating, providing a lovely breakfast of pastries and even a lift up to the train with our luggage when we left. "Our state was excellent!!! The hospitality was warm and welcoming., the dinner and breakfast served in our room was fantastic and we enjoyed the Tatami style. We enjoyed the onsets, especially the two private ones. Everything felt so authentic it was exactly what we were hoping for."

"Sadly this hotel really isn’t suitable for Europeans or Americans. We were served with little warmth or hospitality upon arrival and not custom to our taste of breakfast or lifestyle. Everything shuts in the town centre at 5pm and dinner and bar ends 8pm here so it was a very lonely experience. Room was tired, dirty and small gestures such as no coffee offered at 9.35 (5 minutes after breakfast ended!) little things like this made a disappointing visit.
