"Personable staff-charming and attentive to all our needs. We had everything we needed in our stop walking the Cotswold Way. We had 13 different hotels along the way and with this one it was the staff that made it a great stay."

"A very enjoyable stay. Room clean, basic & all mod cons. A fan in the room proved invaluable in the hot weather. Had lunch & a drink in the pub below. Very friendly. Didn't hear any noise at night but was on the top floor. Great location & anly a 20 minute walk to Cardiff city centre. Would definitely stay here again. "

"A great pub with clean, functional Rooms which included aircon (essential right now!) Staff were all wonderful and made the check in / check out all easy. Definitely consider staying here at the top of Gloucester Road."

"A great spot for easy access to Bath, Bristol and the delightful village of Cheddar and the gorge. Staff were so helpful and friendly and the food they prepared was plentiful and tasty. We can recommend a meal in the gorgeous train carriage attached to the bar - a lovely experience. "

"Ok, so i had issues checking in but things go wrong and the staff were absolutely amazing. Issues sorted, kept informed, apologised profusely and kept me amused in the bar. Superb service. There is an outside staircase, little rickety but safe and leads to a roof terrace which is lovely. The room was clean, fresh, probably the most comfortable stay i've had in a long time. No noise from the pub but ill know more next week, yes im booking again. Thanks guys!"

"Really friendly at check in and throughout. Free parking a bonus. Room was great for what we needed with good facilities. Loved the fact there was a bar downstairs - very convenient for a nightcap. Not noisy at all. Room very hot (weather was extreme) and only one window to open but there was a fan. Would definitely stay again when in the area,"
