"Review of two night stay at Hotel 52, Stanley from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th May 2026 Check-in was online only which required a smartphone and a reliable Wi-Fi signal, there are no reception staff on site during the normal working day. The outer door was automatic so anyone could walk in. After collecting our key from a key safe we went to find our room. There was a security toggle with the key to open inner doors of the hotel but none of the security locks functioned so anyone could access all...

"Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast."

"Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. "A lovely stay in a beautiful part of the world. We stayed in one of the accessible rooms, so can’t comment on the other accommodation, but our room was clean, if a little dated. The real positives were the staff, genuinely lovely and welcoming – along with excellent food and a great selection of local beers on tap. We also enjoyed chatting with some fellow guests who were repeat visitors, which says a lot about the place. Overall, a relaxed and friendly hotel in a fantastic location, and...

"Room was clean and staff friendly. TV only had 2 channels that worked and when you flush the toilet the bedroom walls shook as if something was going to errupt from within. Breakfast was a disapointment and not worth. It was meant to serve until 10:30 but at 9am it was like locusts had attacked. Whilst hot food did eventually get restocked the pastries etc didnt. "

"Beautiful property and unique experience staying in the castle. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - they looked after us very well. Beware some of the castle rooms require you to go up a spiral staircase which is a bit of a climb with a suitcase. The staff very helpful and will help with luggage tho. Evening meal was adequate only as there was limited options which interested us. However breakfast was amazing cooked to order and great variety to suit all diets. Do go on...
