"Considering they just went through a bad storm, this hotel was clean and the staff were courteous and friendly. Room was clean and we enjoyed our getaway."
"Second time staying at Aaron’s Cottage. This time cottage #4 with the 4 person set up for my wife and I and our two daughters. Little kitchenette with practically everything. Also have access to community kitchen. Look to see if Aaron’s has availability the next time this local family head to Hilo!"
"only issue there was is the ac did not get very cold. i set the temperatre to 64 degrees, which is the coldest setting, and the room felt like 70 degrees. also not a big deal unless you arriveing on a late flight, office hours are only 9-5, checking in after 5 is an issue"
"Have kitchenette, microwave, full fridge, ocean views, onsite laundry facilities, close- by walking distance nearby golf park
no elevator, limited space parking besides street parking overflow, well lit, on duty security, swimming pool, relaxing atmosphere, near public beach- park, nice paved walking path to famous community walking Liliuokalani park, excellent bedding, free wifi, nice, beautiful Hilo hotel very cozy, safe and comfortable, friendly staff"
"We liked the room and liked the location - just steps to the Farmer's Market. This is more of a note to Expedia than to the Hilo Downtown Inn. This is the second place we have rented through Expedia that didn't tell us we'd need to negotiate stairs. My wife has trouble navigating stairs. I think the property and Expedia have an ethical and perhaps legal obligation to inform potential renters about the stairs."
"Mahana House is a gorgeous space where seemingly everything has been thought about and tended to. The hosts are kind, gracious, and welcoming. They're as available as you need them to be, and when my mom and I were caught in a tropical storm and literally not even sure we'd make it to the inn, they were continuously available and responsible, without having electricity themselves. This is a truly beautiful, special place, and I hope to go back!"
"Nice old plantation style house with a beautiful yard and view of Hilo.
Staff was nice and helpful, even tho I arrived a day and a half late.
Very peaceful place to stay, with birds chirping in the morning and coqui frogs croaking at night."
