"Beautiful property. Had an initial issue with room and staff moved us to another room promptly and ensured we were comfortable. Great view of the ocean, pool was a huge hit with the kids. Location near Japanese gardens - lovely place to explore.
The hotel is an older vibe but well maintained. Only cons - elevators were very unresponsive and staff had to assist a couple times; have to pay for parking AND when you say the resort fee covers 2 drinks a day (sounds great but only certain drinks) and the other things included in resort fee were not items my family needed. So felt like extra money to pay for little extra value. STILL with these cons - would definitely stay there again."

"Stayed July 2026 - Family of 4
Highly recommended. Small mini fridge was very helpful. AC worked well. Get the room with a view, it is lovely to sit out on the balcony.
Yes, its dated but it is very well kept and you can really appreciate the beauty of the hotel. The staff were polite and helpful with my several encounters. The grounds are beautiful. We will return."
"amazing spot in Hilo town. The hustle and bustle sounds can be heard right in the area of this establishment. But, it shows that the Big Island is reviving back. The staff are an international group and well versed in customer service. The guests that stays here are pretty much a like-minded bunch."
"Great place and a great breakfast in the morning. Very talented people own this place and make you feel at home. The place is a bit of an art gallery with custom pieces, local art, and info.
Kelly appears to put her heart into making her guests feel welcome, comfortable, and well fed if that is a part of your adventure.
Plenty of parking for the amount of people that can stay there."
