End of the road at the peaceful Polihale Beach and State Park ~ AKA ~ The longest sandy beach in all of the Hawaiian Islands. This is also the start of the remarkable Na Pali Coastline on the garden isle of Kauai. Four-wheel drive is recommended for the road leading to Polihale State Park. Rental car companies do not take emergency roadside service calls at this spot. If you still decide to go in with a two-wheel drive vehicle, be sure to stop at the local grocery store in Waimea town on your way to pick up a 12-pack of "Hawaiian Insurance"-- just in case you need to ask a local to pull you out of the sand ;)
