I didnt stay , my flight was cancelled from Flores Island to Sao Miguel Island , an email from Sata airlines was immediately sent to the hotel and Sata airlines also immediately called the property to inform about the flight cancellation due to a storm .
At the same time Hotels gold team made a phone call and explained the situation asking for the refund ( booking was made on the previous night) or at least to change the reservation date for the next day but the manger was not open to any solution except for keeping the money and to follow the cancellation policy ,black and white word by word.
I also called the property manager but i received the same answer , cancellation or another date is not possible ,i will just keep the money . Never this happenned before anywhere else in the world , usually in special conditions a hotel manager understands that a flight cancellation due to bad weather is something unexpected and different from a no show but this Azorean hotel ,that i am sure sometimes has the same issue when flying to mainland due to frequent bad weather in the middle of the atlantic, had no mercy , money money money !
