Visited here 7 years ago, hotel was lovely, food not so great but not an issue. Have just arrived back from another stay and it is dire to say the least. It looks absolutely nothing like it does in the pictures. Only one pool open, the other has been reduced in size and was closed, the food terrible and the whole place was a building site and won't be finished until Sept 2027. The only plus is that the staff are fantastic. Unfortunately we won't be visiting again.

This was our second time staying here. Staff are very professional and attentive. Food was very good however the same menu at the hotel restaurant as was at the buffet. If you are looking for something different, a short walk across the highway and half block to left is an excellent Outback Steak House. Beach was wonderful. Only two issues that were not great was the construction on the new building next to the main pool which was closed for safety reasons, and there was a sewer back up onto the walkway towards the family pool and hotel. You either walked through it - yuck - or went through hotel lobby onto beach and back onto the pool. They were working on the sewer problem but was an inconvenience. If you forgot anything, there was a convenience store just outside the resort and a 15 min walk and across from the marina was the Walmart. I would have given a higher review if it wasn't for the sewer problem and the one pool being closed due to the construction.

The hotel is very run down, but has a rustic charm I guess. We had to share a balcony with another room which is totally weird. We also could hear the people in the room next door snore and blow dry their hair. Our room was completely bare except for one tv hung on the wall with wires hanging out of it. It only had one English Channel. There were no drawers for our clothes. The service was very slow. No one serves you . You had to wait in line for water and drinks. The food was ok. But even if you got a table and got your food- you had no drink- not even water or coffee. We ended up leaving the resort and the town is cute and the restaurants are yummy. There is a liquor store near by. Everyone was nice, but I will never do all inclusive again… what’s the point.

When we first walked into the front lobby area, there was a very bad smell, which continued as you walked through to the eating area adjacent to the lobby. There isn’t a rating for the food and drinks… But we would’ve given that one star. The food was the same every day with a little bit of a variance… They finally had a Mexican fiesta night… So we figured there would be different food at least the traditional Mexican food which we were so looking forward to, but we were disappointed again because it was the same food again. We have stayed at different all-inclusive hotels, and we have always had a variety of different foods on different days. So we ended up going to restaurants outside of the hotel to eat. We had maid Service on the third day of our stay and they basically just changed the towels… Nothing was cleaned. Other than that, the staff was very nice.

The all-inclusive food was surprisingly good and had plenty of options. The service was excellent and all of the staff were super polite. The beach area is great with tons of lounge chairs to sit on and much larger compared to other resorts that are further south. Our only complaint would be that there was quite a bit of construction going on during our stay and sometimes they would be working and making a lot of noise during peak beach hours.

Staff were amazing! They were helpful, kind, friendly, congenial and gracious. we felt they were there to make our stay a memorable experience for that we are very grateful. The dining room staff made sure we had what we wanted or needed. All in all a wonderful experience. We are sure to return!

Overall this property had the potential to be something great. But the issue that I had and I thought wasn’t right was they were under construction and that was not made clear when anywhere when booking this hotel. So the three restaurants wasn’t true. The pools were dirty a lot of times. And there was no AC expect in your rooms so the idea of hanging at the bar wasn’t even a thought because you would stand there in your own sweat while drinking. It had a really bad smell in many areas. I thought the staff was the highlight until someone stole my fiancé shirt that we had just bought that morning. We left our room and the shirt was gone which was very strange to us. Overall just wasn’t even a good experience at the hotel mexico itself was amazing the location was great we were near everything. I think this hotel would be great after the remodels they should have just communicated that sometime through the booking process if it’s by email or having it listed on the app. But overall this hotel was be 2/5 stars at this current moment I wouldn’t recommend and I won’t be going back. And that takes a lot for me to stay because I am very easy to please hotel wise and this one definitely disappointed me.

Food was moderate. Nothing fancy. Lots of Mexican choices compared to western cuisine. "Sellers" on the beach were annoyong. Constantly coming up to you. They had put a dividing barrier rope in place after we got there but they would still come right up to your chair every 7 minutes. Entertainment was mediorcre, just live bands, not actual shows like other 4 or 5 star places. Location is great if you want to go off resort and do stuff. Shopping malls close by, marina is a 7 minute walk, and 10 minutes from airport.

I cannot understand all the bad reviews. For the price, this place checks all the boxes. It’s not a 5 star resort, nor are they charging 5 star prices. The food was plentiful and we filled our bellies at every meal. The staff were friendly and attentive. The facility, room and pools were clean. There were employees everywhere all the time to cater to guests needs and maintain the resort. My kids (7 and 8) loved it. They felt safe, were treated kindly by guests and employees and had the run of the place. We were there on Easter and some of the employees helped me hide eggs for my kids to find in the open grass area. The construction noise was not obnoxious or constant. It’s Mexico- of course there’s construction. If it fits your budget and you want to travel- book it. We could walk to grocery and convenience stores, the cruise terminal… Taxi’s, Ubers, buses are all easy to obtain.

We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend staying here. The staff were very friendly, the hotel very clean, and food very good with variety each day. We had access to two swimming pools and both very nice and clean. The children's area very enjoyable with the waterslide and kids pool. We were able to enjoy time on the beach, used the lounge chairs and watched whales on two occasions. We met Ernesto, a tour guide on the beach, and booked tours with him. He was very informative and we felt very welcomed and safe with him. Only downfall was some construction on buildings close to pool areas but we were able to find a spot to relax and didn't notice it too much. Also didn't have towels for 2 days but asked at front desk and some were sent up. Hotel is within walking distance to a convenience store and about 2 blocks from a steak house. Tours from the marina were about a 15 minute walk so didn't need taxi as the walk was nice. We will definitely stay here again.
