However, there are options to park your car nearby. Overall, the stay was great as the room was comfortable and clean with a great view."

The “Welcome Pack” was a great and welcome surprise which is a definite plus compared to other rentals in this area. Master bedroom had a superb en suite plus a great view of Loughrigg Brow. The room was in a poor state of repair: mould on the bathroom ceiling, rusted window frames, failing grout and sealant with black mould in the tile joints, and paint peeling throughout the bathroom. These are not superficial issues — they represent basic maintenance failures that should not exist in any hotel, let alone one...

"Apartment was really nice, roomy and comfortable, ideal for two couples. I wouldn't recommend it for families with kids due to proximity to a bar and noise in the evening. Only other niggle was that while the apartment was well kitted out in general, we had to go out and buy hand wash and toilet roll. "High Ridge is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ambleside. However, it really does need some TLC. There are damp patches on the walls , the bed linen is rather questionable, & the window blinds are just simply dreadful . They let light in, don’t work properly & are very tatty indeed. The furnishings are of poor quality & there are just far too many dreadful pictures on the walls. The kitchen & bathroom are good but the rest of the property needs a jolly good face lift .
