"Browns was an excellent hotel - only stayed for one night but wish we were there for longer. Will definitely go back. We were upgraded to an apartment which was great to have the extra space with a Juliette balcony overlooking the river. Food was excellent had lunch and breakfast was included and couldn’t fault it. Apartment had a fully working kitchen with fresh milk in the fridge which was a nice touch. No car park but the pay and display was very close by so very easy and it cost about £11...

"Great location near the Cathedral and plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. Reasonably straightforward to check in, although the lighting at the entrance and in the stairwell could be improved - I needed to use my phone torch. The room was great and had a lot of character with a modern bathroom. One minor suggestion - they should change their brand of shampoo. My hair has never felt so gross and greasy after washing and drying! But it was a convenient and comfortable stay. "

"Lovely and clean, on the edge of the Town centre, opposite the Cathedral. Great for walking into the Centre and quiet at night, apart from the noise of people staying in the Talbot. An old coaching inn, with plenty of character and a warren of walks to get to some rooms. The room we had was a bit dark, but coped with the lights as we were visiting family, who lived local. Staff were lovely from the guys checking us in to the housekeepers cleaning the rooms. Would stay again"

"Was informed 3 days before stay that we would be staying in a different house to listing, which for us was ok. Clean bedding, comfortable beds. However the house although wasn't filthy it wasn't clean. The whole place looked like a family had just "popped out". Clothes hanging on doors, shoes left where they had just taken them off, generally a untidy house."

"Stunning approach to the hotel,a friendly greeting at reception and from the staff.The suite that we stayed in was amazing....very spacious with loads of character. "Very lovely staff team who greeted us on our arrival. Room was super comfortable and the bathroom and shower were superb. Ate in the restaurant and the food was very good. My friend had fish and chips and it looked amazing. Would certainly recommend! "
