"I chose a budget room which was £144 per night. I stayed two nights over the Bank Holiday heatwave . There was a brick wall outside my window and only two of the windows would open a maximum of 3 inches. The bathroom window did not open and the fan was not working. It was wretched in the heat. You have to have the light on to see even in daylight. I was given a very basic fan . I asked to change my room the next day. It was inhumane to expect anyone to be in a room with no ventilation in that...

"Still the best place to stay in Poole. Shower was awesome, enough room to get a rugby union team in!!! Great location near the restaurants on the Quay and a ten minute walk from the train station. Deluxe Room was very spacious and had an iron bath in the corner!! However, mattress was too soft and the pillows too 'fluffy'. Just a personal note, but we needed hard mattresses and 'dull' pillows. "Although on arrival the rooms were clean. They allocated one room in the loft and my friend who is 4ft 10 ins banged her head twice as the ceiling was very low. They did allocate another room. Rooms were very small. We did not want them to change the sheets or bath towels but they did not do the bed properly. Everything else was acceptable. Staff in reception were helpful. "I chose this hotel because I assumed it would be old fashioned and full of character. So it turned out to be. It is very conveniently located. Inside is very comfortable if a little tired in places. The chairs are buttoned leather and the clientele at the time I stayed were in their golden years. Our room was very spacious but oddly shaped. It all added to the charm. Recommended."
