Lovely place. Friendly staff and nice breakfast despite Hotels.com putting on their website that there is no breakfast at weekends!! Needs correcting but can only be done by the website.

Incredible value

Very welcoming, staff really pleasant. Everything you could want. Amazing breakfast! Our bedroom was near the road which was quite busy/noisy at night. I am NOT COMPLAINING as I didn't request a different room.

A Warm Welcome

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay, and were made to feel extremely welcome by the owners. Our room was clean and beautifully furnished, endless tea and coffee making facilities, clean towels and a modern bathroom with ample hot water and complimentary toiletries. Best of all, was our superb full English breakfast each morning; cooked to order, fresh eggs, thick bacon with ample coffee and toast. The B & B was perfectly placed for visits to Beamish, Newcastle and Durham. We will hopefully return to visit Stanley in the future and will be only to pleased to book another stay with Lindsey & Michael.

Amazing service from start to finish. We wanted to check in early as we were at a wedding at the South Causey Inn. Spoke to Lindsey who met us straight away to check us in. Room clean and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities as well as a kitchen. 7 minutes walk to the venue which was spot on. Next day breakfast was amazing full english 👌 fab stay and so friendly. Definitely be bacn for anymore future weddings. Thanks so much.

Room above a pub, good breakfast, good staff.

Very friendly owners. Arrived at 18:30 and room was not ready. But that was soon rectified and I had a complimentary drink while waiting. Bed/mattress was very soft. Maybe because I am used to a very firm mattress this was err... strange? and took some getting used to. Room was clean and towels were good quality. Excellent breakfast.
