The heater in ground floor got very loud noise after few hours central heating been turn on. Need to turn up the heating,(e.g. from 0 to 2, from 2 to 3)to stop the noise. "Staying at Cedar Manor was a dream. The room was clean, cozy with enough space for our needs. Coffee & tea corner with mini refrigerator too. The most comfortable beds of any other hotel! Breakfast was excellent and even customized for my pescatarian son. The grounds are impeccably and beautifully kept. Can’t wait to go back next year."

"The staff were great - friendly and welcoming. The room was on the small side but we were only there for one night, and it was clean and comfortable (and the view of the hills was lovely). There was a large fan provided, which was very welcome given the heatwave that was taking place that week, We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. "We booked one of the nicer rooms. It seemed like a renovation project had been started but not finished. Half the wooden floor had been sanded and in places patched, the rest was stained. Shower was a clunky 70’s spa tub which ran hot and cold without any changes to the lever. Cupboard with glass doors was missing glass in one of them. Exterior of the hotel looked run down. "3 nights in late July. Hotel is a great place to stay to experience the Lake District, not far from Ambleside but remote enough to feel like you are really in nature. Staff and breakfast were excellent. Walk up to Stickle Tarn was a good test with a couple of scrambly bits but well worth it once you got there."
