"rooms were clean and serviced daily with tea,coffee ect replenished, Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice but the menu for dinner [available from 12.30-8.30] a bit limited with no specials offered."

"So sad to see a what was once probably a lovely hotel now looking very tired and in need of updating. No aircon, marked carpets and tired bathroom. The only plus was the lovely receptionist who was very professional. When we arrived for breakfast, 80% of the tables had dirty plates and cups left and no-one clearing anything away yet there were 3 staff members milling around the bar area. Coffee machine out of order too!"

"A beautiful, charming property with so much character. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Our suite was gorgeous and well equipped with lots of lovely touches. The pictures do not do it justice! The spa facilities were excellent with a lovely outdoor area to enjoy in the warmer weather. Dinner at the 1530 restaurant (we had the taster menu) was divine. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning."

"Whilst the room was clean enough, it was very basic. No head board, poor mattress and 1 coat hanger to hang the clothes (on the back of the door) for 2 people staying in a twin room for 2 nights.
Again, the bathroom was clean although there was little to no pressure in the shower and the sink tap came off in my hand."
