"Lovely room with everything you need for a short stay. Very comfortable bed and good night’s sleep. Great bathroom with bath and shower. Self service light breakfast with enough basic options to start the day. Tea and coffee in room but Coffee and hot chocolate available at the breakfast hub at other times for just £1.20 (Contactless). No reception, all self service check in by What’s App and car parking registration needed but helpful staff around the premises to help with questions. Convenient location easy walk to Ambleside and bus stops outside. Will return!"

"The room was very clean and well maintained and the comfort of the bed was amazing. Check in staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was Self service but superb. We didn’t use the spa on this occasion as we were there to attend a wedding but have used it previously and it is top notch. My only bug bear is that due to not booking direct I had to pay for parking at £12. This didn’t sit right with me because if using the spa, parking is free, if I had just attended the wedding and had not stayed the night parking would have been free. So then when I give them more custom of staying the night I had to pay because I hadn’t booked directly."

"A wonderful stay yet again at the salutation hotel. The location of the hotel makes it an ideal stay to visit Ambleside. Perfect to park the car when you arrive and no need to use it again for your stay. Having a spa within the hotel is a bonus and the standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel is exceptional. We stayed in a room at the front of the hotel , which yes there is a little street noise , but nothing you wouldn’t expect staying in a town centre , and certainly didn’t keep you awake at night - in fact it was probably one of the highlights of our room - people watching below and the beautiful fells in the distance. Breakfast is a real treat , excellent selection of hot and cold food and drinks , there is everything you could possibly want for breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff - everyone greats you with a smile and are most helpful. Having visited the Lake District from childhood staying at campsites, lodges, cottages and b&b’s , I can honestly say this is my favourite place to stay. Thank you to the team at The Salutation Hotel , hopefully we will return soon."

"It's not a bad place to spend a night or two but is pretty dated and expensive for what you get. For some reason, no bath towels were provided and instead you get four hand towels. There was also only decaf coffee. All this would be fine if it was cheap, but it's not."
