"Everything was what we needed"

"Good Hotel"

"I stayed for 4 nights at the Holiday Inn in York. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and was checked in quickly. As I don't use lifts, the receptionist arranged for my suitcase to be taken up to my room. My room, on the 2nd floor, was big and looked very clean. There was a double bed, 2 seater sofa, TV, plenty of hanging space but only 5 hangers, and tea/coffee making facilities. Whilst the bathroom was quite small it had everything you could want (shower only, no bath). There was plenty...

"We have stayed at least 3 times. Sandburn Hall keeps consistently high customer service and housekeeping standards. The quality of food in Tykes restaurant was also good."

"Staff are helpful and kind, and the property is very aesthetically pleasing. Super location for getting into the city easily. Though keep in mind it's an old building so the windows don't fully open, there's no AC and the fan they provide does absolutely nothing to cool you down...so with the warm weather be prepared to bake."

"Well located and the restaurant was really nice and breakfast lovely. Our king suite was located in the loft and was uncomfortably warm. We mentioed to the staff and they brought up an extra air conditioner. This didn’t help much and was far too noisy to sleep with it, so we didn’t sleep well. It definitely needs it’s own dedicated aircon system. The pool changing area was very tired and in need of some attention."

"The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable, but the property was very run down. There was wall paper coming off the walls in the toilet and there were very worn/old carpets everywhere. No toilet paper in the toilet. The room was also noisy as next to the main road. I definitely wouldn't stay there again until the property was refurbished."

"When checking out our room was different, we are from Arizona and never used anything like this, we had to use the key card to turn on electricity to the room. The bed was comfortable and clean, air conditioner worked great and the shower was excellent. The staff was excellent and answered all my questions.The laundry room was ok, washed all the clothes well, but drying the clothes wasn't that good after an hour still had to let the clothes dry in our room.Kitchen was nice had a dishwasher and...

"A wonderful, clean,air condtioned room and staff can be contacted 24/7 if any problems. Bed was very comfortable and being left a small bottle of milk in the fridge was a nice touch. Parking was no problem at all in front of buillding. Did have any food but all looked lovely. Would definately recommend."

"The hotel is full of quirky little seats and corridors. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at ease. The room was one of the best sizes and layouts for the cost we've stayed in the the bathrooms are excellent. The showers are double size walk in with waterfall nozzles and excellent finish. Would thoroughly recommend."

"Mal the owner of the B&B was very friendly and easy to get along with. The room was spotless and the breakfast was delicious, set me up nicely for the day ahead. I would definitely recommend this B&B."

"Firstly the double room which was alleged to be an upgrade was made up of two single beds being pushed together with two single quilts tucked into the side, this is not classed as a double bed. The Menu is the restaurant was very poor and very limited if you did not like pies you may struggle to get something to eat."
