"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Steamer! The room was exactly as shown in the photo. It was fresh and clean. Hearing the sounds of the ocean all night is an added bonus! The pub and restaurant downstairs was the perfect place to go for great food and conversation. They even take the time to reserve tables for guests staying in the rooms. The staff were so attentive and involved; you couldn't tell who was the owner/manager and who was hired staff - a good sign of a well-run...

"Small double room. Was cold and you cannot self regulate the heating/thermostat - it is set by landlord. There was no extra blanket. You share bathroom, lounge and kitchen with others. Prompt communication and well located. You are next door to a very good japanese resto. "

"Very spacious and clean single room. Equipped with fridge and a fan which were both very welcome on the extremely warm conditions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing full refurbishment by dedicated owners. Extremely good value for money also."

"A bit of a hill to walk into Shanklin but it can be done in 10 - 15 minutes. Parking was tight but proved not to be a porblem."

It is on a safe system that needs imput from the owners and a no to get the small safe to drop and reveal the key to apt. Not able to get TV or internet until landlady came on sun morning. Phone conversation was not good at all. Frequently breaking down when asking questions. No instructions at all in apt to get started. No hot water...
