"The Grand Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The room (a triple / family room) was clean and convenient. The fans in the room (in the midst of a heatwave) and the water dispenser in reception were great touches.
We were initially impressed with the proactive communication prior to our visit. However, the code we were given (twice) for the NCP wouldn't work on arrival and we were told by NCP it had expired in March 2026. On raising this with Barbara at reception, we received a shrug...

"On arrival my husband was given a door key card not the actual key that was actually needed. He was stuck outside the room on the second floor because had had all the luggage and didn't want to lug it back downstairs.
Room was very hot with no view but fortunately had a fan. Bed was comfortable and TV reception was very poor.
Best I can do was our stay was 2 star.🙂↕️"

"The hotel was perfect location for open air theatre 15 min stroll down the hill.
Lovely decor in the hotel very clean and fresh looks like it’s had a recent refurbishment.
Breakfast nearly perfect just a small recommendation to chef - just cook the sausages a little longer for that golden brown all over.
Our only issue was the room was way too small felt a little cramped everywhere and I’m a big chap , felt a bit like a broom cupboard at the top of the hotel.
Maybe next time we can be offered a...

"Lovely staff, great location and hotel amenities. Unfortunately we struggled to sleep much at all due to the single pane glass and extremely loud gulls. Appreciate it’s a very old building located by the seafront. The boot rooms are very small (which we expected) and quite tired."

"We only had a short stay there but the hotel and rooms are spotless, staff friendly and helpful, excellent food and well stocked bar. Ample parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would love to go back again. Thanks guys and gals 👍"

"Lovely place to stay just a short drive from Pickering. Helpful friendly staff. Very quiet location. We enjoyed dining in the restaurant and a drink at the bar. Breakfast was good too. Comfortable nicely furnished room. Highly recommended."

"Parking was good, right outside our room. Staff were very friendly and nice. There was a good choice for breakfast of cooked and cereal. The room was clean, did notice a couple of spiders, one small one in the bath which was easily washed down the bath and one above the wardrobe storage, which didn't cause any problems.
