"This is the place to be if you arrive by train and no better base for the Agatha Christie Festival or anything at Torre Abbey. The walk along the waterfront is elegant and safe, even at night. The staff are wonderful and if you like good, old-fashioned service and a traditional English breakfast, you will love it. "What a great little hotel. The opposite of what you'd get at a soulless chain hotel, full of nooks and crannies, old world charm, quirky but comfortable too. We loved the bedroom too, so comfortable. It's just a stones throw from the centre of Exeter, the cathedral and quayside area as well as the catacombs etc. Excellent food too at City Gate and lots of great restaurants to try out nearby too. Pretty much no downsides. Parking was an issue. Breakfast was gorgeous if a little pricey....
