"The hotel is in a good location, convenient to access the Underground or just walk to many places in London. The double room is not big, but worked for two people. The hotel was busy, and getting space in the lifts could be a minor challenge. While I understand a policy of only changing linens every four days, and providing clean towels upon request, this is where the hotel failed to meet basic expectations. We stayed nine nights, and the linens were only changed after the eighth night. By that time, we had no expectations of any change of linens. The garbage was never picked up, despite having made multiple requests at the front desk. We resorted to leaving a garbage can outside of the room in the morning, and when we returned in the evening, the empty can was left outside the door. We were able to get toilet paper and fresh towels upon request, so the only major negative was the failure to clean the room. I don't know if you need to request a remote for the television, but there wasn't one in the room, and we didn't need to use the TV."

"It was a good hotel. Rooms are decent size. Clean and well maintained. However, I feel that I could have chosen a better neighborhood. It wads more like a city than the European feel that I was hoping for."

"The check in personnel were not very friendly. No smiles or welcomes. Just going through the motions. Bathroom was so tiny a large person would find it impossible to sit on the toilet or shower without major constraints. Room was clean"

"Everyone is special at the Strand. Staff takes pride in their work! Although the rooms are small, it is still good value for the area. It’s in a fantastic area to walk the themes and visit Big Ben along with shopping on Oxford! "
