Nice/spacious room, but different aspects like water residue in the shower head, a loose closet doorknob that nearly fell out, a kitchen cabinet nearly off the hinges and foot rest in the shower under the same condition cause me to not consider this property a true 5 star. All these were found upon my arrival. Yes, maintenance came and fixed the cabinet, foot rest & door knob upon request, but as a 5 star...

"Upon arrival, checked in, the rooms are a nice size, with a fridge, kitchenette etc. Bathroom was smelly, there was a cover provided for the drain to stop the smell… The problems started on the second day, none of our key cards for the room were working, called the out of hours number as reception is only open 0900-1800. Retrieved a spare card from the lock box, this also did not work. Phoned the out of hours number again, struggled to get the point across that none of the cards were working....

"We had the bunk room which was incredible value for our late arrival flight. Solid internet and great location with easy walking distance to attractions and as close to beach as you can get in Ft. Lauderdale. Only downside is it is small space with no view from inside but if goal like ours was a clean place to lay your head til you can get into already committed accommodations like convention or cruise the coming days, this fits the bill nicely. Elevator was not working so we could not check out...

"The property seemed to be clean. If I could recommend a few items in the house. Vacuum/ broom, a garbage can in the bathroom curtains/ or upgraded shades. The family enjoyed the stay but definitely felt a bit uncomfortable, my boys are on the taller side and this unit was a bit tight for them. Our stay was short so give the price and the amenities it was fine. Thank you for have our family. "

"One of the 4 elevators is used to access the rooftop restaurant so the elevator service is really slow especially on the weekends. Like 15 minute waits so take the stairs if needs be. Other than that the view was amazing! The staff were super friendly. I got a bill at the end of the stay so the price on Expedia isn’t 100% accurate. It had taxes on it. Oh the room may need more lamps. Otherwise I would definitely stay there again… the water pressure is great, the spa services were...

"We used to stay in this hotel for years but haven’t been there for few years. I have to say that we arrived super early & they still had us checked in so that was very helpful. The hotel in general is worn out a bit. Swimming pool was crowded on our first day there. Staff @ the swimming pool bar are super nice and food was good. "This was my second time staying at Maren. My favorite part of the hotel is being right across the street from the beach. It’s close to all the local restaurants and Elbo room which I haven’t visited myself but every time we pass by it’s always packed. Also Sean is amazing, he makes sure you are well prepared for your stay and has loads of recommendations. Would recommend. Small disclaimer. There is construction nearby but honestly not that much of a bother."
