"Great location in Pacific Grove. The staff were super friendly and helpful! The room was very spacious and nicely appointed. We walked to see the sunset each night. The convenient grab and go breakfast was great for on-the-go travelers like us. Easy access to the beaches, 17-Mile Drive and Monterey."

"Unique boutique type hotel but the parking is tough, especially for an oversized vehicle! We arrived and there was a festival happening so all street parking and hotel parking was full. Thankfully later that evening, after the event, we were able to find overnight parking on the street. But beware, there are only a couple spots offered by the hotel. Our room was nice but the bed and pillows were dated, felt like it needed to be replaced because there was a pit in the middle of the mattress....

"We had a lovely stay at the Charles Pacific Grove property. The staff was very friendly and room was nicely decorated. The inn is very quaint with a nice sitting area to meet other guests. The breakfast was very tasty with fresh fruit, yogurt and pastries. We look forward to coming back soon!"

"We checked in and the front desk woman was pretty short with us. She gave us our room key, and we went up to such a small room right by the road. It was really noisy and difficult to get a good nights sleep. There was no curtain on the shower, so it was just the fabric. It was a second floor room, and no elevator so I’m glad I had my husband with me to carry our bags. Otherwise, would have been a struggle. "

"The fireplace and ice machine didn’t work. Office opens at 8am, checked out at 8:10 am there was no one at the front desk another customer was there and had been hitting the bell a few times with no response she finally knocked on the door behind the desk a few minutes later a person came out looked like he just got out of bed. Room was clean, good hot water."

"This was at least our 4th visit to Monterey and Pacific Grove and we've always been delighted to stay in this hotel."

"The wall between the rooms is very thin. I can easily to hear the TV noises and talking. After midnight, the people was watching TV in the room next to mine. It’s hard to sleep well."

"Heating and cooling temp is preset. Room got warm and they provided a fan that is very loud. "

"The property is very clean. The bed was comfortable, however, the pillows were flat and uncomfortable. The breakfast was always well stocked and the breakfast area was clean and well attended to. The doors to the outside have a gap on the bottom that allows light and noise to come into the room. Adding a door seal could really help with that. We ended up having to use a pillow because the light was bright coming into our room. Overall it was a good stay. I would definitely stay here again."

"We stayed here for a couple nights after a drive to Big Sur and the 17 mile drive. We loved the hot tub and fireplace! Room was large and decor was pretty and enjoyed the big comfy bed! Could have used a microwave but the fridge was good size. The walk to shopping, restaurant, and the beach was easy. We would recommend this property snd would stay here again. "

"This property is the dream stop for those who love the Victorian aesthetic. It is like being inside a kaleidoscope of leaded glass! Persian carpets, well- upholstered furniture, glass chandeliers, Belle Epoque sculptures, Grecian columns, ceilings with decorative moldings, complete the interior ambiance. Add to all this the location, overlooking the Pacific Ocean edged in cypress trees, visible from most spaces. On the other hand, know that for the fairly high price, you will most likely get a...
