"Stunning building with such potential for a star of the art hotel in a fabulous historical building. Unfortunately it seems to be being run by a lack luster company with no imagination for what it could be. The room we had was enormous but had been decorated in very low quality materials. The carpets were cheap and badly laid and the curtains were a thin cheap materials. The Restuarant similarly had such huge potential but was thinly and poorly staffed with inexperienced and untrained staff....

"Hotel and room were very nice, however a hidden parking cost was not appreciated. Was told I needed to pay for parking at reception on arrival, when I mentioned to manager(?) that evening that it showed that parking was free both on Expedia and their official website he said it was a new charge that they obviously hadn't updated online, but was given no choice but to pay or leave (hotel is on a main road near no other options!)"

"Had low expectations of a motorway services hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Arrived late and had a really pleasant welcome by the guy in reception. Asked where I was off to in the morning and pleased he did as he told me about the shortcut to get back on the M6 southbound. Saved me a 20mile detour. Lady in the morning was also very pleasant. Room was clean and quiet for a hotel on the M6. Was great value for a bed for the night. "

"Room was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful. Lost a star as breakfast was a bit underwhelming, tiny, quite greasy sausages, just cooked bacon, slightly odd scrambled egg but horror of horrors, coffee from a "jug" 🙃."

"Really nicely refurbished hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, although they sometimes seemed a little inexperienced. Our room was comfortable, but it felt slightly cramped as it was quite full of furniture, which meant there wasn’t much space for our luggage. Overall, I would recommend staying here, but I think the staff’s experience and confidence need a little time to catch up with the high-end image the hotel is aiming to project."

"Like all Britannia hotel I have stayed in this is tiered dirty, restaurant was also closed with no food in the bar. Room was tiered dated mattress very basic for a hotel bathroom dirty and hot tap didn’t work properly. It’s a really shame as the staff are lovely and helpful. Hotel just needs serious investment."
