"The shower wasnt working properly but they fixed immediately. There are things throughout that need to be reoplaced or repaired. The shelf in shower was falling off the wall. Some faucets and soap dispensers and items like that are missing throughout or need repair."

"The grounds are beautiful and lush with greenery and the lighting under the trees/fountains makes you forget you are at a hotel. We upgraded to the swim up and we thought it was worth it for small children (they could swim after 6 pm and go in first thing in the morning while the rest of the family was making their coffee. I mean, why not! They have a water park (1 for littles to age 7) and a bigger one that I would say is moreso up to 11 or 12. There is a baby splash pad, as well, but it looked like it needed serious maintenance as the tiles were all coming up. There are a la carte restaurants you could make reservations for (do that as soon as you check in) and if you can't get in, the buffet was great and had quite a variety of food. We only ate there during breakfast. There is a bowling alley and small arcade---you need a lot of tickets to win a good prize though! Nightlife was lacking a bit. If you are getting in on Wednesday though the weekend, you'll find more of the entertainment in the theater shows but they start VERY late at 10 or at times 11:00p.m The kids club closes early at 10:45, so if you plan to go as an adult, don't expect late night kids club coverage for free. If you are expecting a wild night out as an adult, I'm not sure this place is it.They did tell me they would charge for babysitting in room per child if you are comortable with that. The service was okay, not five star. There is a lack of urgency in the bars and The Valley restaurant. "

"Stayed at this hotel for first time with my family ,overall we liked our stay ,the property was really green and beautiful ,spacious,the beach and ocean is amazing,food pretty much same every day at buffet ,good food nothing to complain,lots of bars and restaurants,I wish rooms were little bit remodeled and little things needed attention,decorative pillows had a little smell but just put them away ,overall we had great time :)And coffee shop with their desserts was top notch I liked all the cakes they had ,delicious ice cream too ;)"

"I have stayed at many resorts in Punta Cana. The Occidental Caribe, by far is considered my favorite because of the way the resort is situated. It has a U shape which I find very pleasing and intriguing. All the buildings are within the U shape and over looking at both the beautiful pools and the blue white sandy beach. The restaurants, buffet and other amenities are spectacular. The staff is awesome. They all showed professionalism, courtesy and respect. One person who stands out the most was Leslie Vilorio on the evening shift. I really admire her for her professionalism and for always going above and beyond to meet the guests at their needs. The services that Leslie and all of the staff members provided to the guests on a daily basis is excelent. I am looking forward to coming back with my family again next month."

"My visit 3 years ago was much nicer than this year. No more flamencos, trash and plastic water bottles in the lagoons and around property, and very little food in the bins for the birds. Although the beach was still as beautiful, the resort itself was not as pleasant. The food quality was below average but the staff were all extremely kind and accommodating, although it appeared there were much less employees."
