It was great to see the bar /restaurant buzzing with locals and others staying there. Staff were really helpful. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay and located well for exploring. "

"Unfortunately our stay was marred by the fact that the bathroom bin had not been emptied and contained the previous residents used sanitary products!!! The shower took 25 minutes to drain and, whilst we understand the logistics of old manor houses, if the plumbing is not up to standard then this should be at least mentioned on booking. The bathroom windows were in desperate need of repair, and mould cleaner, which may be the reason why there were silverfish in the bathroom. The final straw for...

"Fantastic stay at the Telstar. Staff were so friendly when I arrived, showing me to my room. It was very clean, comfy and practical! Free parking is an absolute gem in Exeter, so was very grateful for that. I'll definitely stay again when I'm next down."

"Well located for shops and both Exeter Main and St. Davids railway stations. My room was compact but well thought out and well equipped. It was great to have a light next to the bed which you could turn off/on easily and the shower was good. Breakfast was first class, beautifully served and coffee one of the best. I would have liked more savoury options for the breakfast but that is just a small preference. Host was really helpful and very welcoming. I would stay here again."

I was unable to ring reception to report the issue becase the phone in the toom was not working either, so I had to use my mobile to ring in externally. The staff offered to try to re set the aircon from reception but this did not work. Half an hour later and after a further phonecall, a member of staff bought a stand alone fan to the room. "Room was top of hotel overlooking a crumbling slated roof but it was the cheapest option and loud seagulls every morning sitting on the roof. The room was adaquate but bathroom only had tiled floor so shower went everywhere. Staff were good and polite and helpful, breakfast was fine and hot but also minimal varied selection. Parking was atrocious, with only 6 spaces ? at £10 per night because street parking was normally nose to tail, and full for 24 hours. Because I have a blue badge I parked on...
