"I embrace historic charm and quirkiness; what I don’t like are doors to bathrooms and bedrooms that don’t shut properly and lack of cleaning. The bedroom was described as deluxe double but there is nothing deluxe about it. The carpet was stained and had not been vacuumed recently as evidenced by dead flies and numerous bits. "We arrived a little early, but found a parking space at the property, went in and introduced ourselves. We had booked a twin room, but we're given a free upgrade to a lovely, and spacious room with a four poster and excellent views of the city. Our room wasn't ready but we were given a key and told we could park up and take the fifteen minute walk into town. Our room was ready on our return, and a lovely room it was. Well furnished, comfortable bed and a very nice en-suite. After another walk...
