"Great location to temples/shrines and easy walk to Kyoto nightlife. This was a great traditional Japanese hotel experience and my son and I really enjoyed it. The on property laundry machines was really helpful after 1 week on the road."

"We had an amazing time. It was definitely very traditional. The front desk staff were awesome. Momma was awesome. Everything was awesome… the onsen is definitely only meant for one person."

"Great breakfast and dinners. Lovely location and rooms. Wonderful staff."

"We stayed in Room number one. It was incredible. It was such a wonderful experience to stay in a historic building that had modern amenities and a lot of space. The room decorations and sliding doors were beautiful. The living room overlooks the garden. Everything was clean. It was nice to have the communal food area to grab coffee in the morning and a light meal. Be aware that the room entrance for the room is right next to the lobby. There are stairs to climb to get up to the room. We will...

"Super location and quiet room with real Japanese style bed on floor. Practical for trips into town or further since bus stops are right beside the building. Locally within walking distance there are ramen restaurants also temples and the Philosophers path. Suited me perfectly as I don't spend much time in hotel I like to be out taking photos. If I visit Kyoto again I would love to stay here again."
