"The area was very quiet which was nice but did mean it was a bit of a walk to the nearest shop. The check-in process was all automated and quite straightforward but be aware that the emails are sent in Japanese and I had to pop these in a translation app. The building is small but the room was a generous size. The place is slightly dated but very clean. "

"Check-in was a bit of a problem as it's a non-staffed property and neither Expedia nor the hotel itself had sent me the necessary information for self check-in in advance. The property is very chic and posh, yet it is a bit dusty at some places. No TV provided; all is well otherwise. "

"Check in was quick and easy. Shuta made check in fun and had a great attitude. The check in is right next to Kyoto station and the free shuttle to the Kuon was unexpected and appreciated. The property was clean, had everything we needed, and is only a few blocks walking distance to bus stops, both Kyoto subways, and markets and shopping. It was an excellent base of operations to conduct day trips from to see Nara, the north coast, and the sights to see around Kyoto. I will have no reservations...

"Super location and quiet room with real Japanese style bed on floor. Practical for trips into town or further since bus stops are right beside the building. Locally within walking distance there are ramen restaurants also temples and the Philosophers path. Suited me perfectly as I don't spend much time in hotel I like to be out taking photos. If I visit Kyoto again I would love to stay here again."

"Had a great time staying at this property. The staff were very helpful as well as understanding when i spoke to them. The property is near several convenience stores and was walking distance to the train station as well as some major sight seeing locations. Clean and tidy and loved the bathroom in the evening for a relaxing bath. "

"Great place to stay! There are no staff on site but the owners were super responsive even when we asked to check in early! It’s a great location to the train station and the gyoza place at the end of the street is incredible! Also laundry is very close! Will definitely stay here again next time we stay in Kyoto! "
