I stayed at Boutique Hotel Trevi and overall had a good experience, mainly because of the location. It’s right next to the Trevi Fountain, about a 10-minute walk to the Spanish Steps, 20 minutes to the Colosseum, and a quick Uber to the Vatican. I even walked back from the Vatican (about 40 minutes) along the Tiber River and stopped at Castel Sant’Angelo, which was really nice.
This is listed as a 4-star hotel, but it’s not what you’d expect from a typical 4-star. The rooms are a bit outdated, but still comfortable. I had a single room and didn’t have any plumbing issues. The room did get warm, and the AC didn’t get very cold, so I wouldn’t recommend staying here in the summer. I left the balcony open to help cool it down. The bed is more on the firm side.
There’s a hairdryer in the bathroom, and my diffuser attachment fit it perfectly. It does shut off if it overheats, but it works. There are only two outlets, so bring an adapter. The room key has to stay in a slot for electricity.
There’s a €7.50 nightly city tax per person paid at checkout. The minibar has water, soda, and juice. The safe didn’t work, but I used a lock on my suitcase. WiFi worked fine.
I felt safe as a solo traveler. The front doors lock at night, so you’ll need to ring to get in. Breakfast was basic but good, and it fills up quickly,go early.
I went in early April and it wasn’t overly crowded. Mornings were cold, afternoons comfortable, so wear layers. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend
