"Both main elevators were out of service and we believe the staff was asked to lie about how long the elevators have been out of service. Some told us a month when the front desk said it just occurred. We had to use a service elvator in a dirty hallway and wait 10 minutes for each ride. Often walked the steps to 7th floor instead of wait. We put a pizza box on top of the waste basket by service elevator and it was still there 24hrs later. This was a comp"

"Air conditioner worked great. Upon check in we were told second floor up the stairs. Wife and I in our upper 60s (no elevator) Started raining as we were bringing in luggage. While carrying luggage up the staircase power in the building went out. Stairwell was completely dark. Came on for 3 seconds and went out again , us trapped in darkness and no clue what to do. After 2 more on and off power outages we made it to the room. Opened the door that was falling off its hinge. Lifted the door to open so it didn't drag. Couldn't close door without lifting. Them lights in the room wouldn't come on. Using the street light coming in through the windows we found every light switch and finally found the desk lamp across the room was connected to the switch at the front door. Bathroom door also was off it's hinges and had to be lifted to close the door. Then as we finally ot in bed , luckily I brought an extension cord, to connect our medical system. The TV did not work. Couldn't wait to get out the next morning. Oddly the beds were set up on metal solid frames and any time you walked up to the bed your feet kicked them. It was like stabbing your toe just getting in bed. No one at the desk to check out with. We hated every second of our stay. I did say the Air conditioning did work. All the floors had trash around the edge like it was swept, just not around the edges or corners."

"This is a good hotel in a great location to everything but it has terrible parking options and has even worse surrounding scenery and is majorly over priced. We chose this hotel for a romantic get away but never again. Building, rooms and staff were nice but the surroundings and street noise were a big turn off. For almost a $500 a night this was a major joke."

"We booked a room from 4/17 to 4/19. First, it took 25 minutes to find us a room at check in on 4/17. Everything was going well on 4/18. We returned to our room around 4:30PM and went out for the evening around 6PM. We got caught in a rainstorm and returned to the hotel between 8:30 and 9PM to change and go back out, but we were locked out of our room. We were told that our reservation had ended on Saturday. It took 40 minutes before we were given access back to our room and the rest of our evening plans had been ruined. Otherwise, the room was fine."

"The room was beautiful and very well maintained. There is a camera monitored parking lot for hotel guests which was both very convenient and made me feel safer than leaving my car out for street parking. The staff was so incredibly kind after a long almost impossible day. Next time I am in Birmingham I hope that I will be able to stay with them again!"
