Have been driving across the country for over a week now and managed to rest up a bit and visit downtown Chicago. Spent the day looking for this iconic piece and finally found it. The Chicago Theatre was built in 1921 and was originally named the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre. This building has become the unofficial landmark for Chicago representing the rich arts and music culture Chicago is known for. In 1979 the building was added to the list of historic buildings, and later in 1983 was added as an official landmark for the City of Chicago.
