Top Wigton Hotel Reviews
Carlisle Station Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by BW
10/10 Excellent
"The room was very clean, and the lighting was fantastic, with a decent centre light that could be turned on and off from the bed. Decent bedside lamps, which worked well; none of the single candle power when the hotel was run by Hallmark. Having had nightmares with those stupid plastic key cards in the past, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the wooden version worked to perfection every time we used it. Would other hotels please take note! One thing I would comment on is that one has to ask for our room to be cleaned. I don't have a problem with that. But it would be useful if there was somewhere where we could put our plastic bags of rubbish each morning. I particularly liked the idea of being given tickets to show we had paid for our breakfast. At £10 each were excellent value for money. The yoghurt is to die for, as are the croissants. I have eaten many croissants over the years, and believe me, these are the best. It was also good to see a nice selection of fruit already prepared. We didn't try the tea, coffee, or hot chocolate; we prefer fruit juice, which is excellent, with just the correct amount of sweetness. I did have a bit of an argument with the orange dispenser; we obviously did not speak the same language! It was great that there was a choice of fried or scrambled eggs. Hubby did enjoy the sausage and bacon, but he was a bit put out that there were no mushrooms! There were also tomatoes, hash browns and baked beans on the menu."
Keswick Country House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This is a great hotel for a visit to Keswick, perfectly situated with everything in easy walking distance. Its set in lovely grounds and the staff were all very helpful and friendly It has a very nice bar well staffed We would definitely return here"
Days Inn by Wyndham Gretna Green M74
8/10 Good
"Clean rooms and decent parking, although separate charges apply"
Cumbria Park Hotel
8/10 Good
"I stayed for a long weekend and the cleanliness and staff were exceptional. However, the Wi-Fi didn’t reach my room, which was 130, a single room as I was travelling alone. The other somewhat disappointing aspect was the lack of water pressure in the shower."
Ox Hotel Carlisle
10/10 Excellent
"The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The beds were really comfortable, breakfast was very comprehensive and nice. The place is a little run down, but looks as though it’s being improved. Great value for the price, would definitely stay there again. They do do evening meals in the bar although their website doesn’t say so."
The Golf Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Breakfast was lush, a few bits had went unnoticed in the cleaning, Also I'm not happy I booked a double room and it was two single beds pushed together, As we were getting jiggy they came apart, not the worst place ever but not the best x"
ibis Carlisle – City Centre
10/10 Excellent

What is the difference between a 4-star and 3-star hotel in Wigton?
The biggest difference between a 3- and 4-star hotel in Wigton is the standard of service and availability of creature comforts. Three-star hotels are typically more wallet-friendly and come with the services and amenities required to be comfy, such as WiFi, a gym and breakfast. You can look forward to a little bit more at a 4-star hotel — think upscale furnishings, luxury toiletries and extras like on-site spa centres.
