"From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and friendly, after a 3 and half hour journey we had a lovely roast dinner and a beer which went down very well. We were then shown our room which was perfect, and matched the quaint pub, the bed was comfortable. tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, & water readily available, en-suite with shower and t.v. Breakfast was lovely all fresh and local produce. Final evening we had a lovely meal which coincided with my husbands birthday, the dessert came out...

We paid around £100 for an evening meal which included two mains, a shared Camembert to start, and two drinks, but we didn’t feel the quality of the food justified the price tag. "I was pleasantly surprised when i arrived at this hotel. Iit overlooked the river Avon, and we could see a little waterfall from our window. The mill wheels was working just outside the dining room window. It would be lovely in the summer. The only downside was the choice for breakfast. However you get what you pay for and as a really cheap hotel it exceeded expectations and when next i go to Bath i will stay there. As a bonus it also has a toll road running into Bath which cost £1.20p cash...

"We were staying here because our bathroom is being renovated and will definitely stay again. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with a brilliant shower that I did not have to faff around with adjusting, just turned on and it was the perfect temperature. The underfloor heating makes the room very warm although one can open the windows. In kinder weather, there are chairs outside each of the rooms to sit on and enjoy a drink or smoke, and the pub...

"All felt very dated. Walls and floors all paper thin, could hear everything from folks waking at 6am, with the addition of construction work right outside the window at 7:30am. Rooms, whilst clean, were basic and tired, and far too warm with no ability to adjust temperature. Pay and display parking (with no guest discount) is a bit odd too. Not sure what grants this a 4*, but it certainly isn’t. Get what you pay for. "
