"Fantastic location. The property’s on street parking is very convenient. Lovely breakfast and staff. Bed not the most comfortable."

"Parking available and easily walkable to the main road with regular buses into York centre Great breakfast Only complaint would be the sound proofing of the rooms and cleaning early morning that disturbed us"

"I found some nail clippings on the carpet at the side of the bed. Wall was stained with a large coffee splash. Very poor soundproofing between rooms. Rooms and bed quite small, heating didn't work so room was cold. No fridge. Breakfast was particularly poor. Watery, tasteless orange juice. Bacon tasted only of salt, sausages cheap and tasteless, stale loaf left out from one day to the next."

"We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The staff were so friendly especially Donny at reception. Front of house can really make or spoil a stay. The rooms were spacious and they accommodated all our guests with rooms close to one another which made it much more relaxed for us. Parking was also included and breakfast which had a variety of options. Would stay here again for sure. "

"Convenient location bed and pillows quite hard, little things like one of our towels had a hole in it let the place down a little. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. I was greeted and seated by a nice member of the team but after that nobody came anywhere near me so i couldnt ask for coffee or fresh eggs as i had hoped so stuck with some toast and apple juice. Hot food looked ok "

"Paid for a suite , room itself was lovely and large , beautiful bathroom. When we arrived at the room in the afternoon all the bedroom curtains were closed , including the ones to the outdoor balcony. Once we opened them we realised why …… a massive building project , scaffolding etc literally metres away from our room , so much for the garden view . Room was looking a bit tired cosmetically but still lovely , house keeping must only clean from eye level down as when I got into bed the ceiling...

"Good all round hotel. Bed comfortable, spacious room, very clean throughout, reasonable prices at bar, well cooked and presented breakfast. Only negatives, no fresh fruit for breakfast, only grapefruit, very small TVand biggest radiator in our room wasn’t working but this wasn’t a major issue for us but it would be in winter. "

"Such a wonderful overnight stay, the reception staff were welcoming upon arrival, our room was perfect and had a fanatstic view. The golfing staff were really friendly and helpful. The food in Tykes for the evening meal was amazing, the best pork I've ever had! Breakfast was lovely, a perfect place to stay, we will be back! "

"Had a good 2 night stay at The Pavilion. Lovely character manor house kind of property. All staff (even though quite young) were friendly and efficient. Good location as could hop on a bus into the city. Parking (payable) at the hotel or park on street free if any spare spaces. Rooms were ok/fine, had to move from 1st one as towel rail and also toilet roll holder were both hanging off the walls. They upgraded us for free to king room. This was a good size although carpet showing slight signs...

"Sehr leckeres Frühstück und sehr freundliches Personal, die Bettwäsche hatte einzelne Flecken und die Einrichtung war leider nicht ganz so schön wie auf den Bildern. Es lohnt sich also eine höhere Zimmerkategorie zu buchen."
