"Our room had no AC, so when we checked in we had to leave the balcony door open for a while to cool off. That in itself isn't a huge deal, but the room we were in had a balcony that was shared among multiple rooms. This is Monterey we are talking about, so I wasn't at all concerned, but it just seemed like the sort of thing people might like to know. Also some of the parking spots are tricky if you have a larger vehicle. All in we had a nice stay, and the breakfast the next morning was a solid offering. Considering the price and location I definitely recommend Merritt House Hotel. I would stay there again without hesitation!"

"Breakfast was great. 24/7 coffee. Location is close to Cannery Row. Rooms are updated and nice with safe, mini fridge, lighted mirror and a Keurig. Chargers for micro usb and usb. The courtyard has a couple nice seating areas. The lobby is pleasant with plenty of seating for breakfast. "

"Clean and spacious room with the most comfortable bed we’ve ever had!!! There is a hairdryer in the bathroom but I didn’t use it as we were going Whale watching so it was a hair up day!!! The breakfast in the lobby was plentiful, cereal, bagels, waffles, toast, fruit and yoghurts, what more could you want!!! The location is about 15 mins walk from Fishermans Wharfe so really convenient. Would definitely stay here again. "

"This inn was beyond our expectations—so clean, attractive and comfortable. We had a room overlooking the small adjacent beach park as well as a view of the bay. We loved sitting out on our balcony and listening to the sea lions bark! The staff was so lovely and helpful, and the room itself was filled with nice amenities, including a coffee nook. Absolutely loved it! And we have decided to come back as often as we are able. One of the real advantages of this hotel is that it’s near everything – Canary wharf, restaurants, shops, etc. And every stop along the street has an amazing view. We can’t recommend this inn enough! Note: If possible, try to get a room on the top floor. This will ensure that you have a good view, and that there are no footsteps above you."
