"The main areas of the hotel have clearly had a refurb and were nice. The room was very tired and need of TLC. It was not clean, the bathroom in particular was very dirty with dust, dirt and hair all over from previous occupants. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable and room too warm but no means to cool. The breakfast was good and staff lovely but sadly for £240 a night I expected better. I wouldn’t stay again unless the cleanliness was addressed and beds upgraded. Shame as with some basic...

"Room was clean, staff were friendly, breakfast buffet was good."

"Bed extremely uncomfortable - George V Room - I don't think I had a decent night's sleep during my stay! Room wasn't serviced properly on my penultimate day - the bin in the room (but not the one in the bathroom) was emptied and the tea/milk etc topped up, but the bed wasn't made properly. To be fair, one of the housekeeping staff did knock on the door and asked if I needed the room serviced - I said the bed wasn't made and she offered to make it but I told her not to bother. No hard-of-hearing...

"Amazing and super friendly staff"

"This was not our first visit to the Grosvenor hotel in chester, as it is closing on 30th september for a couple of years to renovate.so we booked two lovely rooms in april to stay 1 night at the end of september, on arrival we soon found out our stay was not as we hoped it may be, there was an heritage package that we were not made known to on arrival. therefore there was only 1 menu we could choose from, asked a bottle of wine was told that could not order a bottle but could order by the glass...

"The room was small but cozy, just right for a single. The television was disappointing, as there seemed to be only one movie channel with old B movies. The staff were very pleasanr and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a large variety of choices. The location is excellent for exploring the city center or shopping, very near the East Gate in the city walls."

"Went for a one night stay. Really close to Chester centre. Big rooms with big beds. The spa was relaxing and clean and the front desk staff were very helpful. We had a lovely stay"
