"Room was as clean as this very old motel can be. Had a muggy smell so had to air it out a bit. Mattress was comfortable but the sheets were very itchy But the towels were new and plush so that was a bonus."

"This place is ideal if you know what you are in for. I appreciated the location, once I realised it was 22 km from Golden, up a soft dirt/gravel winding road, away from anything. I did not receive the email from the property advising me of all the details until after I arrived to check in, because I was away from wifi and cell signal. "Alpine Meadows is a unique rustic lodge in a beautiful mountain setting. The drive up to the lodge 4K up a private mountain gravel road. Upon entering the lodge you are asked to remove your outdoor shoes to preserve the original wood floors. A variety of slippers are provided. "Love this place! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, beautiful unique room, incredible view of the mountain, gorgeous common areas and everything you could possibly need. The room is compact, but very comfortable. We did miss having a small area to sit and work, but the common areas can be used for that purpose. Walls are thin so perhaps bring some earplugs. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!"
