"Nice clean room. Really big bathroom Very hot but it was a hot evening outside The check-in was weird because we were asked to pay £5 for parking which wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the booking process. Considering it’s a motorway services accommodation, there’s really no choice unless we parachuted in. The hotel should have the honesty to include it in the price at booking."

"If you’re relying on laundry that it SAYS they have, they don’t have any. They tell you to walk down the street. And they did not care that they say they have laundry facilities on Expedia. Also the elevator was broken when we were there and there was a huge line to go up."

"I have to say I waa really surprised at how nice this place was. The only issue for me (being a bigger bloke) was i couldn't fit in the shower as it only has a s.mall opening but I was able to get around ."

"Fantastic stay. Lovely room. Free parking and £10 for our dog to stay ( 2 night stay) food was lovely and we could take our dog with us. The staff were fab made a fuss over our dog and nothing was too much trouble for us or her. Opposite, there is a field that you can take your dog for a walk. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back. "

"I would say the room was pretty basic but then I find most ibis are. The bed was very hard and I didn't have a great sleep, I suffered with arthritic pain due to the hard bed. That being said the staff were very helpful and the hotel is in a great location for the airport."

"Overall room was clean if a little tired, needing refurbishment. This was reflected in the fixtures and fittings throughout the hotel. I had previously stayed at the hotel approx 12 months (Ramada) before and it was 'tired' then, so in need of capital expenditure."

"Impressive in arrival this countryside hotel and conference centre at first glance appeals. There is also ample parking. Many hotels allow early check in if one arrives ahead of check in time. Moat House staff were less accommodating and seemed to have a hard and fast rule. However, when we sat in the lobby with our suitcases and backpacks half an hour ahead of check in time, they quickly and pleasantly attended to us. In reality, it felt more like an episode of a budget hotel rescue show filmed in a stately home. To be fair, first impressions were promising. "Had to click on something to get to this part of the review. Never actually stayed at the hotel, but spoke to a lady called Catherine who was brilliant! We had to cancel due to family commitments, but good old Expedia wouldn’t refund as they said I was too late to do as, but I took out the cancellation cover with them which said I could cancel up to the 3/5, but they thought different. I will never use Expedia again. You need to speak to people not robots!!"

"We stayed here for one night to break up a long journey to the Lake District. I can’t fault the hotel. It was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. Parking was free, and there’s a McDonald’s just across the road. Breakfast was simple but good, and the staff were very friendly. We’ll be back for sure."
