"Lovely room, helpful staff and super breakfast. Easy parking too. Only minor gripe was that the window didn't stay open and we had to prop it open with a toilet roll. The was a bit of an issue as the weather was unseasonable warm and there is no AC in the room. However, the staff did say this was already noted and action was being taken. This was our second stay at the hotel and we would certainly visit again."

"We got an upgrade ? But didn’t tell us it was straight above the building site below that started jackhammering at 7.30 am so we had an early alarm!!!! And the door stop in the bathroom we both stubbed our toes on it rather a silly place to put it"

"Good value accommodation in the Hillsborough area. The Restaurant and pub were not open on the Thursday I stayed and I did have difficulty finding somewhere nearby to eat as I am a vegetarian."

"We always stay in this hotel when visiting the area. We have tried others, but always regret not coming to this one. The rooms are lovely, clean and well maintained, the staff are warm and friendly, the food is delicious, and there is parking on site. It is always a pleasure to stay here."

"I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and welcoming this hotel was. Parking was difficult to find during the day but by the evening there were plenty of spaces. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help me get a travel cot. The bed was comfortable and and curtains near to blackout. "Slightly tired room, could do with a spruce up, didn't think it was worth the cost (though it was the weekend of the snooker so there was presumably a surcharge) but it was perfectly fine and in a great location."

"AVOID! On arrival we got our keys from the keylock which was a simple process. When entering the apartment it completely stunk of cigs and w - as if people had been in there for days smoking. Even aside from the foul smell the place is very run down, lots of marks and stains on the walls etc. The glass hob surface had a large chip/crack on it which you could easily cut yourself of. A number is given to contact and says it's staffed until 8pm. We arrived about 8:30 but messaged basically...

"The bedroom was clean, cool and comfortable, with a very good Freeview television unlike other hotels in Sheffield! The bathroom was very clean with a powerful shower, although the flush on the loo needed a lot of strength. The pool was clean and staff very helpful, with generous towel width. Noise was a factor as even early on Sunday morning there seemed to be a live band nearby. Breakfast was less than ideal with no gluten free options, table spoons given to eat cereal with and only fried...

"Would have given a 5 star review but unfortunately neither me or my wife could have a shower, water would only come out at super hot no matter how I tried to ad cold it just stayed boiling hot. Both had to wash in the sink as a consequence. We were in room 6"

"The pub/hotel itself has walls of awards for food, so you can be sure of a good meal. The room itself was (I guess) a converted stable at rear of the building. Charming little room with a shower room upstairs. Very comfortable and great for what we wanted, a short break for a couple with dog. Hathersage is only 3/4 mile along the road with pavement, or alternative footpath across fields. We did the 6 mile Jane Eyre walk from the village up onto Stanage Edge."
