"I booked an Ocean View room at Royal Lahaina Resort, but the room we received only had a partial side-view of the ocean from the right side of the building. In my opinion, this should not be advertised or sold as a true ocean view room. When someone books ocean view, they expect the ocean to be clearly visible from the room, not only from an angle. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing, especially because we informed the hotel in advance that we were celebrating our honeymoon. The hotel acknowledged our email and said they would do their best to make our stay memorable. However, when we arrived, there was absolutely nothing special in the room, and the view immediately killed the excitement for both me and my wife. It truly felt like the wrong decision to book this property for such an important occasion. The room itself did not feel modern or luxurious. Amenities were very basic, and the coffee machine in the room was filthy, which was unacceptable for a resort that presents itself as a 4-star property. The service also did not meet expectations. Several staff members at the front desk and around the resort came across as rude and unwelcoming. A resort at this level should train staff properly on how to speak to guests with respect and hospitality. Based on my experience, this does not feel like a true 4-star resort. It feels heavily marketed online, but the actual guest experience did not match the expectations created during booking."

"Location was great, amenities were great! Waking up to bug bites was horrible scary., Bugs under the bed dead bugs lined the bedroom floor boards. Piss ants covering counter top in kitchen. My own personal blanket was taken and never returned. I am saddened, my experience with this stay was so disappointing. Would I recommend this place to my own family and friends? No."

"The one specific condo on J bldg was very rundown and infested with bugs, not sure if it was fruit flies since they were larger. Upstairs was very disgusting. We did our best to stay, but it was getting intolerable."

"Rooms were clean and amazing, views are beautiful. The room has EVERYTHING you need, we went for the studio as there were just 2 of us and it was perfect for us! Staff was accommodating and friendly, parking was easy and lots of stalls available light be due to we visiting during the “off” season. Loved that the resort was quiet!! So nice. One thing about booking on EXPEDIA- EXPEDIA charges you a “resort fee” but you will also pay an Amenity fee at the resort, amenity fee is clearly outlined why and what you get for it- totally understandable however expedias “resort fee” not sure what that’s about."
