"First and foremost the property was clean, functional and offered value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, although our experience of room service was let down by dirty cups being left. We found the hotel lacked character, everything about it was functional and not interesting. This extended to the breakfast, our experience of which was behind not eating supper there. This is not a criticism of the hotel, it is my view. Based on reviews I expected a little more than we got....

"Superior room very spacious and decent spec."

"Lovely place to stay, clean room although the carpets could do with a revamp. Staff were very helpful even though we arrived very late in the evening. Breakfast was excellent, very nice poached eggs."

"I was disappointed with my experience, particularly given the high standards I associate with Hilton. The level of customer service fell well below expectations. First impressions are important, and I felt the interaction lacked the courtesy and hospitality one would expect from a hotel of this reputation. In addition, no complimentary water was offered upon check-in, which is a small gesture but one that many...

"Ample parking. Amazing breakfast. Great views"

"First impression of the room (which was a suite). There is dust all over the vents, the thermostat was set very high as we walked in and after setting it to the lowest setting the air con doesn’t blow cold air whatsoever. The room is smaller than advertised in images online. And the ceilings are very low. Going from a 5 star manor at the start of the week to this by the end of the week was just disgusting. The room was in need of a proper deep clean, stains on the sofa. Genuinely makes me feel...

"Really spacious clean room. Bathroom a bit dated and shower not very warm. Great location and parking facilities. Cracking view of the river from the room. I got an email offering a deal on breakfast. On paying at reception I was told it didn’t include VAT for the breakfast which was extra which I thought was a bit misleading. Other than that nice stay."

"Well situated to train station, Eldon Square shopping centre, Grainger Market, Bigg Market’s bars and some nice restaurants a few minutes walk away. Room was decent although paint was peeling off the bathroom wall and some mould in the shower, so definitely needs a room refresh."

"Modern and clean hotel"
