"This was a real last minute booking, but what a winner. The guest house was wonderful. The room was very comfortable (didn't want get out of the bed). Such an individual look to each room. Made a nice change from the usual Travelodge/Premier Inn ordinariness. Did Didn't try the breakfast. Will rectify that next time. Very impressed. Highly recommend. "

"Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended."

"A truly wonderful stay over the festive period. The new spa is lovely and room 452 was SO quiet and spacious, highly recommended. The only downside which I pointed out two years ago is that the shower lets the room down as it’s not powerful enough and looks dated too. A short taxi ride or lovely walk into the centre with everything you could wish for. Please note valet parking is £39.50 and the Soa £45 per person in addition to the room. "Room was delightful,spacious, clean and had great tea making facilities. Staff were welcoming and happy to chat. We loved the Halls historic features which were highlighted in Christmas decor making it very special. We enjoyed a walk around the gardens in the morning before heading off a short distance into York. Fabulous stay and will be back again! Many thanks"

"Check in was a very pleasant experience. We took advantage of the luggage check and on return to the hotel for check in our bags had been delivered to our room. We were even showed to our room, a nice touch. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. A million dollar view from our room across a quiet street. Would definitely stay again."

Some TLC required to the mould in the shower and the overhead bed light didn’t work, this left just the room light as the only means of lighting and reading by that was a bit limited as the wattage of the bulb wasn’t great. Staff definitely the biggest positive."

"The welcome from the the Receptionist was excellent ensured we had a suitable room to meet our needs. Hotel room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The room was heated individually, controlled in the room. Breakfast was excellent lots of hot and cold choices. Highly recommend especially due to the onsite parking which is a bonus in York. All the staff are very polite and friendly."
