"This hotel is well located for central Birmingham without being in the city centre. It is close to the tram line into Grand Central Station or just a short taxi ride. It is also close to Edgbaston. The building itself is quite historic and full of character. Because of this it doesn't feature all the amenities that one would expect of a newer hotel. However the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful."

"Struggled to find it at first but it was a lovely room, enjoyed being able to use the TV. Had 2 fans which was needed. When arrived back at the hotel late at night there was no room in the car park but a member of staff moved their car for us to be able to park. Only downside which staff cannot control it is very loud, right next to pubs. Banging all night and fire alarm randomly went off at 1am which gave us a bit of a fright."

"Convenient location and very clean inside (a bit shabby exterior). Strange accommodation set up and room layout let this place down - single bathroom only accessible through the tiny kitchen, no kitchen worksurfaces, no forks?! Communication / check-in very good and friendly."

"Booking is made on Expedia, but the you complete the registration on another site. Shower is built into a very small closet. Toilet is on the other side - in another closet. You have to straddle the toilet to use a hand basin that barely fits my hands and it's not possible to wash your face in it without splashing water all over the floor. Entrance way through to the room is in shockingly poor condition. Not the welcome one would hope to see. I would not recommend this room."

"Good option - close to amenities and international centre"

"I really like this place. THe only negative was that there is no USB port in the room, or anywhere in the carpark to charge an electric vehicle. Parking is easy and plentiful. Breakfast is great. Din't actually meet a single member of staff except in the pub (where they were very pleasant) - so i cannot really comment on the staff. It would be ice to actually see someone or have the facility to ask a question etc"

"The air con had broken in the hotel during the June 2026 heatwave. We were lied to, told we could move rooms to a working one and weren’t told it had broken everywhere until 11.30pm when returning from a concert. We asked if we could get a refund and were told we could, so at midnight we left and went to find somewhere else. 2 weeks on and I have had no apology, no refund and no acknowledgement of this being dealt with. I’m £244 out of pocket as I had to pay for another hotel. Avoid."

"Excellent location, parking can be extended beyond stay, water and tea coffee in room. Self help water dispensers would be useful."

"Ordered room service at a late time of the night. Whilst I don’t expect gourmet at 1am it is reasonable to have something edible. £35 for 2 dry panini rolls isn’t really good enough and this could be improved. Also no spa - which should make the 5 star experience better."

"Very pleasant, stylish property with excellent staff. We didn’t use any of the facilities but our room and the ambiance of the hotel were impressive. Parking at the hotel and convenient access into Birmingham on foot or by public transport."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at the ibis Styles Birmingham Centre for one night and, considering we only paid £46.69, we were genuinely impressed. The reception area was clean, spacious and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They showed us where we were on a map and pointed out nearby attractions, including directions to the Utilita Arena where we were attending an event. A nice touch was the complimentary tea and coffee available in reception, along with water and juice in the dining...
