Combining a wonderful pub and fantastic rooms, this is a great place to stay when in London. Very friendly staff, warm and inviting pub with historic feel, would come back anytime!
We had two stays during our time in London and would thoroughly recommend. Rooms were large clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast service in the morning was very welcoming with a good continental selection.
Would highly recommend the Rose & Crown had a lovely comfortable stay and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Local taxi firms - Sam’s Taxis 10/10 for being on time and value for money. Better than an Uber
Very nice hotel Great location: bus is right across the street & drop off right in front. Pool is very relaxing & bonus saunas are exactly what you need after a day of London walking. Room very nice!
Restaurant could use updating (food not great for breakfast, skip it & go down the street to The Breakfast Club). Staff is wonderful & very helpful.
Note for Accessibility: Steps to entry, 'Back entrance' is available, you have to ask.

The better the room, the better the stay
We stayed 2 nights, 2 different rooms.
First room was Junior Suite; exceptionally presented & comfortable. Second room was Double Superior - this let the stay down. Light fixture was hanging off the wall, no sound proofing with next door with tatty, torn wallpaper with a smell of bleach / cleaning products.
We made an excellent choice to stay here. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Great water pressure, great towels, mattress is probably comfortable for most people. (I have a hip/back problem but my husband loved it.) The neighborhood is fabulous - lots of young professionals and young families out walking, enjoying the park and the shops. Many restaurants! Buses galore to get where you want to go. The staff is so friendly and helpful! The pub food was a great London experience for us. We wholeheartedly recommend the Rose & Crown,
Stock Newington is a great village within a city. The Rose and Crown is a pub with extremely comfortable guest rooms. Food and drink where great and the service was exceptional. It is just next to Clissold Park which is also handy.
I absolutely loved my stay here. I was travelling for business and found a room at the Rose and Crown for SUCH a reasonable price - and I was in the most beautiful suite! I really hope to return to stay again - the staff were outstanding, lovely breakfast and the pub downstairs was great too. Loved it, a total hidden gem!
The Rose and Crown is a complete hidden gem. The room was simply stunning and well appointed. The food was excellent and the staff were highly attentive. You can’t really ask for more than that! I can wholeheartedly recommend it and will most certainly be back for another stay.
Beautiful and romantic old pub. The atmosphere in the evening with the two open fires was amazing. The room was very modern and squeaky clean. We loved the tub, and the heating and wifi worked well. It is an old house so sounds travel easily, but the other guests were quiet, and being on the top floor, the evening noise from the pub below was no problem. In the summer, the big roof terrace must be amazing. The only element less perfect was the cold breakfast in a very cold corner of the pub. How lovely it could have been to come down to warm sausages, eggs, pancakes in front of a warm open fire....
Coming from Canada, staying in a pub was a unique English experience. Surprisingly quiet with well-appointed room. While I rated this as excellent, it should be noted that there are stairs to the rooms and no elevator if that is a challenge. Also Stoke Newington is about 30-45 mins from central London by bus/tube. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.
was absolutely wonderful, the pub was really sweet and the room was lovely! Stoke Newington is such a nice area, very eclectic. Lots of lovely independent shops, bakeries and wine merchants!
The breakfast and service were excellent! The WiFi in our room did not function but we were able to use the pub WiFi. The room number 6 was comfortable and very roomy. Thank you for a nice stay!
Lovely weekend here at the rose and crown, excellent room and wonderful service, great breakfast and very easy to jump on the bus and straight into the heart of London in 30 mins
