"The hotel is very cosy - the lounge in the evening is just so special! The rooms are very comfortable, the beds great, the bathrooms very clean and nicely designed. The original gothic features everywhere are fantastic and the ambience is fairytale! The staff are great, welcoming and very professional (thanks, Tom, for the tour!). Food is excellent. "Set in gorgeous surroundings, the field barn has everything you need for a rural retreat. It was always warm (something which we considered before booking it for our December stay) and we felt at home right away. Beds were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment and the oven worked well. Lots of opportunities to go on walks directly from the property too. We like to stay in beautiful places and this ticked that box!

"The staff were the star of the show, on every interaction we had with them the were friendly and couldn't be more helpful. If you are doing Hadrians Wall Walk, this is the place to stay in Wylam / Heddon on the Wall. "
